Monteverde Cloudforest Canopy Tour
In April I took a cloud forest canopy tour up to the Monteverde area of Costa Rica. Located in the north-central part of the county, the community was started back in the 1950’s by a group of Quakers seeking isolation from the world. They definitely got what they wanted! The road to get up there is infamous for its rough patches, but it wasn’t too bad for us. Locals tell me to just wait until the rainy season!Monteverde is definitely up and coming. There are a lot of people moving up there to seek a cool, temperate climate. Monteverde is also almost ground zero for the ecotourism movement.
The canopy tour is highly recommended. Just imagine traversing across a 1000 foot valley in the middle of a Costa Rican cloudforest. Doesn’t get much better that this if you are an adrenaline junkie like myself!

It’s amazing who you can come across when you are googling. I had heard you had settled in Costa Rica, Tod. It’s actually second on my list of my next travel destinations after Indonesia/Southern India next year. Can you believe it’s been twenty years? Email me some time. - your old friend Bruce.
